Building Custom Strikers

	Hello I am Harold Fowler. Several years ago, when I first got into this great sport of turkey hunting, my passion grew to the sport and to the calls that would fool this wily bird into reversing mother nature, this being for the gobbler to come to the hen instead of the hen going to the gobbler. I like the friction calls best, that being slate glass and aluminun calls. Soon I started whittling wood to make strikers with my pocket knife and found that different kinds of wood and other materials would produce different tones of sound on the same call.
Soon my passion grew for working with different species of wood and other materials from all over the world. Some of these work very good on some calls, not so good on others and vice versa. Great satisfaction comes from matching the perfect striker with the call.
	I became aquainted with a guy from Arkansas who worked the hunting shows and events and had been turkey hunting and calling much longer than I. He and I became very good friends and he helped me to improve my strikers. He also encouraged me to work the shows and events. All my strikers are custom turned individually since I do not use a copy lathe. .
